Personally, when I visit a blog and see it hasn't been updated in days, let alone weeks or months, my level of interest drops as quickly as a twenty-year-old's pants (originally I had sixteen-year-old and then remembered I had a daughter and that, obviously, I should be setting the standard higher). :p
Anyways, back to my point... Although I don't update the blog anymore with my ramblings, there's still tons of crap (for lack of a better word) that I would have loved to have known or not known before having my first baby or while I was surviving the first year as a new Mom (survival is the KEY word).
This blog was my lifeline during that first year - my connection to the outside world and my saving grace on days when I had no freakin' idea what the hell I was doing (pretty much every day - Oh, and that's still the case, I've just gotten used to it now).
If I write any longer, I risk getting "addicted" AGAIN and attempting to re-ignite the blog AGAIN and failing miserably AGAIN because I just don't have the time (exactly like I don't have "time" for the gym :p).
For those of you looking to live through the ups and downs of a first-time Momma, my Archives are listed in the right sidebar - in case it ain't obvious, you might want to start with my first post (DUH!) which was in May of 2009.
If you're just looking for a taste - check out my personal favourites.
Looking back on the last 19 months, if I could give one piece of advice to new Moms or Moms-to-be, it would be:
Take all the crap people tell you with a grain of salt - this includes what the "experts" who write the books say - and follow your instincts. If your instincts suck, ask your Mom. If your Mom's instincts suck, blame her for your crappy instincts and laugh about it. In short, ignore everything that makes you feel like you're not good enough or not doing the "right" things because, by nature, as a Mom you're most definitely doing your best to do all the right things for YOU and YOUR BABY!
xoxoxo
PS - Obviously, I had to include some recent pics of my love bug and I. She is such a character - so much fun and so exhausting all at the same time!

Although I am sad that you will no longer be writing, I am thankful for what you have written.
Your blog link remains in my list of favourites because I will come back to re-read posts during times when I need to regain my sanity and remind myself that I am a good Mom.
You have helped me a lot, and even inspired me to start my own blog about my journey as a new Mom.
Thank you, Jen :)
